LARES has been successfully launched on 13 February 2012 from the European Space Agency spaceport of Kourou (French Guiana), with the maiden flight of the small launcher VEGA.

Prof. Ciufolini and prof. Paolozzi have been invited as key-note speakers at Techfest 2014 (Asia's Largest Science and Technology Festival) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai.
